Teaching Philosophy

Our Teaching Philosophy
“Let Me Grow With You”

We are here to grow with your child. Hand in hand, we guide them through each step of their journey.

Our teaching is not about standing above students, urging them to climb faster or questioning their pace. Instead, we help them build their own ladder, step by step, so they can reach their goals in a way that is meaningful to them.

While learning an instrument can be challenging and time-consuming, we understand the process as musicians ourselves. With patience and empathy, we guide students to discover the joy of playing, and help them find beauty and purpose in their musical journey.

As teachers, we are also lifelong learners. We continuously refine our skills, growing alongside our students to provide the best possible guidance.

Our Approach to Teaching

We approach each student with curiosity, seeking to understand their world, interests, and concerns.

We approach with curiosity

We take the time to understand each student’s world—their interests, concerns, and unique perspectives—so that we can better connect with them.

We are intentional in our teaching

We prioritize meaningful, effective teaching and practice:

Effective teaching happens when both teacher and student enjoy the process. Lessons should encourage listening, understanding, and application.

Effective practice focuses on challenging sections, slow practice, and cultivating awareness of muscle movement. We guide students to use all their senses during practice.

We break it down and find a way

Our role is to simplify complex concepts and techniques into manageable steps that students can understand and achieve. We tailor our methods to make even the most difficult content accessible.

We teach how to practice and self-learn

We equip students with the skills to practice effectively and develop independence, empowering them to eventually teach themselves new pieces.

We focus on both music theory and technical skills

Music theory and sight-reading are essential for every student. By teaching them to read and interpret music independently, we open the door to a vast world of musical exploration.
